How Grovo Helps One Company Save Money and Enhance Employee Development

Written by Grovo

Managing large-scale construction and remote management projects with a team of employees located throughout the country is no small feat. For the past two decades, Washington, DC-based MGAC—a veteran-owned owner’s representation firm providing integrated cost, project, risk and construction management services—has treated each project like a mission executed with military precision.

MGAC helps clients navigate every move, action, and decision with expert assessment, honest counsel, and creative problem-solving strengthened by diverse collective experience. Whether it’s the installation of a priceless piece of art or the implementation of a nationwide network of data centers, we take on each project with an open mind, not a one-size-fits–all approach—resulting each and every time in missions made real.

“Grovo has allowed MGAC to further invest in our employees by providing them easy access to quick, on the go learning. Our overall culture has a recharged passion for learning, and we are seeing an uptick in requests for tuition reimbursement,” says Meagan Broyles, Education & Professional Development Lead at MGAC.

To be successful, MGAC employees need a combination of technical and soft skills. The company needed to find a way to refine those skill sets without taking employees’ time away from clients. Microlearning provided the perfect solution.

In 2015, the company founded MGAC University and chose Grovo as its on-demand online learning partner. The program uses learning and development (L&D) as a competitive tool, helping employees excel in the areas necessary to be successful in their roles. Grovo’s intuitive interface delivers more than 5,000 bite-sized video lessons and proprietary materials like forms, policies and articles, allowing employees to integrate training into their work days based on the time they have available.

The initiative has performed beyond expectations. More than 43% of employees are exceeding their learning requirements each quarter. After each internal campaign push, MGAC has a 12% spike in platform logins and learner engagement. MGAC University has cut L&D administration time by 20%, and the enhanced employee skills are helping the firm win new work.

“Grovo integrates soft and technical training skills in shorter periods of time, which fits in well with our project management staff who are constantly on the go. Grovo allows us to deliver on-demand training when our employees want it using a modern approach to learning that our employees have embraced. Additionally, our account management team has been an asset as we develop a culture of learning at MGAC,” Broyles says.
