On August 7, Grovo for Good held the first of our monthly service days – Fridays for Good, at The Bowery Mission’s Harlem center and it was a success!
Grovo employees spent about two hours with an amazing group of men. We exchanged life stories, learned about their professional aspirations, and assisted with professional development training using our product. The event gave our employees an opportunity to witness first-hand how beneficial Grovo can be for individuals pursuing middle-skill jobs—those that require more than a high school diploma, but less than a bachelor’s degree.
A 2015 study by Burning Glass Technologies found that 39% of U.S. employment is comprised of middle-skill jobs, 80% of which require digital skills. With this in mind, Grovo for Good is dedicated to providing tools that will improve the digital literacy of individuals hoping to attain a more prosperous career path.
We really enjoyed getting to know the men at The Bowery Mission and look forward to continuing our relationship with them as well as other organizations throughout the city.
