While steadily chipping away at some of the content for Grovo, I wanted to quickly let you know that Yelp and PayPal have both been added to the glossary. As I wrote in my last post, it can seem like these websites have their own language some times. We’re hoping that the glossary will provide quick reference to help you get familiar with the websites you’re interested in learning about.
In other news, we’re soon to be posting a course on Yelp…for business! Yelp has over 2.5 million active users; in fact, a reported 38 million people visited Yelp in August 2010. That’s not a customer base any business can afford to miss out on.
If you’ve used Yelp before, you know it’s far more than business listings. Many, many businesses take advantage of the powerful tools the site has to offer by engaging and managing business profiles on Yelp, through which they can market themselves to local customers, offer coupons, register and promote events and much more. Businesses can even directly communicate with customers through Yelp. Whether you’re a local business that’s never heard of Yelp or you’ve been managing your business profile on the website for some time, I think this course will have something for everyone.
As always, if you’ve got any comments, suggestions or ideas, let us know: contact@grovo.com.
Best,
Eric
